V1.1 Bug fix/Update
🛠️ Tac-Stab-Toe — Update V1.1 Release Notes
🎮 Gameplay Improvements
⚖️ Turn Order Alternation
We’ve added a major fairness improvement to competitive play.
-
Fixed an issue where Player X always went first.
-
The starting player now alternates between X and O after each match.
-
Alternation occurs no matter the result—win, loss, or draw.
-
Beginning a new campaign resets the starting player back to X.
Under the Hood:
-
Introduced a new
next_starting_playervariable to manage turn rotation. -
The game now automatically assigns the correct starting player at the beginning of each round.
🔧 Bug Fixes
🎵 Audio Playback Fix
We resolved several issues with the audio system:
-
Music now plays consistently during menus and battles.
-
Improved initialization of the audio player.
-
Menu and battle tracks transition smoothly as intended.
🔙 Settings Menu Navigation Fix
Accessing settings no longer disrupts your campaign.
-
Before: Opening the settings screen would reset the game to the main menu and erase progress.
-
Now: Settings can be opened mid-game without losing any progress.
-
When closing settings, the game returns exactly to where you left off.
-
All board data, score tracking, and turn order are fully preserved.
📊 Score Preservation on Menu Return
Your victories now stay with you.
-
Before: Going back to the main menu would reset campaign win counters.
-
Now: X and O win counts stay intact when navigating to menu or settings.
-
Scores only reset when starting a new campaign.
